Role of a funeral director

Few people realize the extent of the Funeral Directors role. It begins when we are first called and ends only when we are satisfied the ceremony is as perfect and complete as we can make it and that the wishes of the family are fully met.

The following is a general list of the services that we are able to provide:

  • Prompt and personal attention 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week
  • Transfer of the deceased from place of death to funeral home
  • Preparation of deceased for viewing (if required)
  • Embalming by qualified personnel (if required)
  • Personal consultation with the family about arrangements
  • Liasing with the cemetery or crematoria of your choice
  • All arrangements with the church, chapel, clergy and celebrants of your choice
  • Collection of all official paperwork
  • Advice on wording and placement of press notices
  • Supply of hearse and other funeral vehicles
  • Collection and return of floral tribute cards
  • Organisation of music/musicians of your choice
  • Memorial attendance books for friends and family to sign
  • Provision of after funeral refreshments/catering if requested
